Food security is an essential part in the growth of any nation. In Cameroon women play a vital role in this sector, thus making agriculture a critical sector for women’s empowerment and economic development, as it provides employment and income opportunities for millions of women. However, women farmers often face significant challenges, such as limited access to land, credit, and inputs. By Empowering women in agriculture, it helps in achieving food security and poverty reduction, consequently helping to improve nutrition and health, and thus promote gender equality.
In 2021 to contribute to the empowerment of women, especially rural women, DEVIIN though it’s Rural Women Agricultural Support Scheme in Kompina, Littoral, Region Cameroon supported 25 female small holder farmers, with training and resources on sustainable agriculture practices, seeds, and other agricultural inputs.
